RAR 180 | Bakt - Arqueano [50 tapes]

Bakt’s “Arqueno” is the ancient sound of slow and grand creation, a doom-laden synth score chronicling the first life forms on earth more than 4 billion years ago. Bakt, a Brazilian project from Caio Lemos of atmospheric black metal projects Bríi and Kaatayra, forgoes the medieval castles synonymous with Dungeon Synth and focuses on a time before humans walked the earth, gazing upon the first primitive life forms–single-celled organisms. Lemos notes that Bakt was inspired by the grandiose span of geologic time, “I was reading a lot about how life was born on Earth, which culminated in readings about the Eons we know. It's a subject that fascinates me because it brings this feeling of the immensity of time. Thinking about a gradual process using a scale of hundreds of millions of years makes me feel the calm of being very small in the universe.”

Tapes will be available in person at Northeast Dungeon Siege on March 29th-31st and on Bandcamp the following Friday, April 5th. Limited to 50 hand-numbered pro-dubbed brick orange cassettes with A/B pad print and double-sided 3-panel J-card.
